Question from Larry Ferlazzo:
“I was not able to get intelligible sound added as narration to the two experimental slideshows I made … I believe I’m doing everything correctly. I get a few crackling words, but that’s all. Is there something wrong today with your system, or am I doing something wrong … Please get me to me as soon as possible.“
Thank Larry for your question. Followings are some tips and recommendations from our users, and we hope these can help you.
- adjust volume of computer to make sure there is sufficient input of voice for system embedded recorder to catch;
- after recording, listen and check graphs of sound wave. If the wave is too flat, that means volume of sound low. If the wave go beyond the box, that mean volume of sound high and may experience sound loss;
- use more sensitive mic, such as headset, or just headset of your cell phone if it is compatible with your computer;
- some of users use personal recorder to record their voice journals, they found that reinserting these recorded narrations to slides come out very good results. Other benefit of doing so is that they cut clips and adjust volume as they reinsert sound to create special sound mix. For detail of how to insert from outside player, see “Podcasting with Your Slide” under Q&A.
